London On Da Track

London Holmes (born March 27, 1991), better known by his stage name London on da Track, is an American record producer, songwriter and former rapper from Atlanta, Georgia. He is a frequent collaborator of fellow Atlanta rapper Young Thug and has also worked with Birdman, Dae Dae, Drake, 21 Savage, Rich Homie Quan, YG, Tory Lanez, Migos, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Jeremih, etc.

London first started out as a rapper when he was sixteen years old in a group called Dem Guyz. They used to download beats on SoundClick for 99 cents, they had to purchase exclusive rights for $100 (so they own the beat instead of leasing it) but couldn't afford it. He started to make beats for Dem Savages because he already knew how to use the piano from playing in churches. Then he started to download programs online that put the two together. His team was associated with the Rich Kidz and they didn't have beats either so he made beats for them. Soon, others started asking him for beats and wasn't charging them, he just wanted to get his name out there. The first song he produced to be heard on the radio was "Pieon" by Rich Kidz and it motivated London to keep going. In 2008 or 2009, he recorded his first collaboration with Young Thug, "Curtains," back in his house. He didn't stop giving out beats until his first label deal with Cash Money Records.

A master pianist, London always begins a beat by building a melody, following with the drums and bass. The track's energy is most always driven by the keys, but each melody is a singular mood created without any samples which London prides himself on. His compositions and his complex beats elicit rare flows and zany ideas from the artist working with him.

In August 2014, American rapper and Cash Money Records chief executive officer (CEO) Bryan "Birdman" Williams, called London "the best producer in the business, as we speak today." London's frequent collaborator, Atlanta-based rapper Young Thug has stated London is his favorite producer to work with and will become "the greatest producer ever." Complex included him on their 2013 list of "25 New Producers To Watch For." In August 2014, three singles, produced by London on da Track, charted on the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time, with "Lifestyle" at 16, "About the Money" at 42, and "Hookah" at 85.

When Young Thug broke out to the mass audience in 2015, it was deemed because of the work of London's production efforts. He also produced songs such as Take Kare, No Haters, and Check all in the same year.

In 2016, he transitioned to work with other artists such as Jeremih with the track "Impatient" with Ty Dolla $ign. London produced "Sneakin" by Drake & 21 Savage, two of the hottest musicians in 2016. In October 2016, he also executive produced rising star Dae Dae's new mixtape "The DefiAnation" released via the mighty 300 Entertainment. To cap 2016 off, London has forthcoming music with Nicki Minaj and Drake.

Using KWL as his new management team, London worked with CEO Kevin Liles & Verizon to produce a viral challenge called "Freestyle 50" where artist showcased their music abilities with a chance to get a record executive produced by London. With over 30,000 submissions within a two-week time frame, it shows what type of credentials and popularity of the producer.

With his sights on working more with diverse genres of music, 2017 will be the year London will establish himself as a super producer in every genre, not just rap -- including a new project which will feature mainstream artists London currently works/worked with.
